Perfect weekend in sunny Most for the DRC


A sunny DRC-weekend (25th to 26th August) got to an end in Most today. Sunday saw a packed schedule with 8 action-packed races, going ahead almost without complications. In the DMV Rundstrecken Championship classes we saw some wins of the protagonists, but also some surprises.

Again the Swiss Moto Racing (SMR) and the guests of the KTM Superduke Battle were out on track also.

Moto1: Saiger takes another win with the 1000s

Horst Saiger won the Sunday race in the 1000cc class also. Again the Austrian rider was able to gain a lead of 1.3 seconds over Marc Wildisen. Third place went to Chris Burri, who with 2.7 seconds back on Saiger also was in touching distance with the leader. Saiger, Wildisen and Burri also where the first three riders in the Superstock 1000 championship.

Victory in the DRC-Moto1-category went to Jan Christiansen in front of his Danish compatriot Simon Oeland. Karsten Rasmussen on third place got the best German rider. Swiss Moto1-championship was won by Stephane Bourgeois in front of Alain Andenmatten and Hansruedi Berger.

Horst Sagier, Winner STK1000: “Of course I am happy. Again I was able to gain two times the full 25 points and I increased my lead in the Championship. It can go on like that! But still it’s going to be very close as I can’t attend the next race at Hockenheim. Then I’ll be racing at the 24 hour world championship race at Le Mans for the Bolliger Kawasaki Racing Team.”

Moto2: Nadalet again with a double

Pascal Nadalet won both race of the 600s. The Swiss rider, who is competing in the Superstock 600 championship, got 50 points home at Most, plus had to celebrate the victories 5 and 6 in a row.

Already the first lap of the first race saw Michael Peh going down. The rider from Saupsdorf wanted to challenge Nadalet in the fight for the victory when the chain of his Yamaha snapped and he had to go down. “I think it went into the rear wheel as it suddenly blocked and I found myself on the ground. But I am ok”, Peh said.

Second race had to be red flagged due to an starting incident in the first corner. A slightly over-motivated competitor took several of his opponents with him down. For safety reasons the race had to be red flagged and later it started again over the full distance.

Classes. Superstock 600 class of the DRC was won by Dominik Engelen twice in front of Alexander Knaf. The first race saw Carsten Merz on third spot, but he was one of the victims at the start crash in the afternoon so Max Köhler gained third place.

Moto2-class of the DRC was won by Manou Antweiler in front of Sören Thillemann Traege and Rene Torpsgaard, in the afternoon it was Torpsgaard in front of Antweiler and Nico Butzke.

Pascal Nadalet, Winnter STK600: “It was a brilliant weekend for me. I got two times 25 points, more isn’t possible. I am really satisfied.”

Moto3 & IG Königsklasse: Ullrich, Schönfelder, vd Elsen

Victory in the Moto3/2T125cc category again went to young talented rider Maurice Ullrich. The Aprilia-rider was able to open a gap of 8.3 seconds over Max Enderlein in the 10 lap long race. Eric Keller gained a third spot on his Honda.

250cc-two-stroke classement of the IG Königsklasse was won by Ron Schönfelder. With his Yamaha TZ250 he saw the chequered flag 6.687 seconds in front of Mario Lindner. Peter Christiani got third. 500cc victory went to Jac van den Elsen in front of Stefan Bayer.

ItaloKings/B-King-Challenge: Andenmatten & Fröhlich

First race was won by Alain Andenmatten. On his Ducati Panigale he got the victory with a lead of 13.1 seconds over former IDM 125cc champion Georg Fröhlich. He rode on a MV Agusta F3 675. Adrian Wohlwend was the best Suzuki-B-King-rider.

Classes. The Ducati-Cup was won by Andenmatten. Tom Lanz had to defend his second place against Konrad Hess but was able to maintain his position. MV Agusta class was won by Fröhlich in front of Christian Monsch and Thomas Netzker, both on a F4. Adrian Wohlwend got the victory in the B-King-Challenge in front of Jörg Weber and Roland Montener. Racing4Fun-win went to Michael Trevisan in front of Peter Lehmann and Markus Geuthner. Simone Frederiksen from Danmark got the best lady.

Second race in the afternoon saw Georg Fröhlich taking the victory overall and in the MV Agusta-classement. There Christian Monsch and Thomas Netzker again got the 2nd and 3rd spot. Ducati-victory went to Konrad Hess in front of Kurt Nussbaumer and Tom Lanz. Adrian Wohlwend got the win in the B-King-Challenge in front of Jörg Weber and Roland Müntener. Michael Trevisan again won the Racing4Fun-class in front of Markus Geuthner and Anders Vetsch.
